About Us
Alma Flo’s Place is owned and operated by OneVillage in honor of our family’s Matriarch Alma Flo Banks. Born and raised in Rio Grande Ohio she nurtured our family with her modest ways and unconditional love. She had a spirit that never met a stranger matched with a giving heart. Helping hands is our way of keeping her spirit alive and keeping us humble as we continue God’s work. The story I often tell is when I was teaching elementary school, I had a deposit system to make sure the pencils loaned were returned. When I told her about the system, my Christmas gift that year was a generous supply of pencils to replace my deposit system. She was a jewel. We miss her presence every day yet endure with all she left behind.
